And here is why:
Sometimes, when I realize that something really weird and terrible very likely exists, I do a test to see how fast I can find it with google. Just now I decided to see if I could find yaoi fanficiton featuring Jacob and the mysterious "man in black", both characters from the hit ABC series LOST.
Usually these impulse searches result in me finding, to my horror, exactly what I'm looking for. Often on the first try.
But because there's another character named "Jacob" who is already the subject of 20% of all fanfiction worldwide, and because the other search terms are so broad ("Lost" produces thousands of results unrelated to the show) I would have to sift through hundreds of pages of Twilight rubbish before I had a chance of finding the literary horror I was after.
So praise be to you, Stephanie Meyer, for creating an impenetrable wall of bullshit around my favorite television series. Your fandom is the twelve-foot-thick wall of concrete that keeps all our electromagnetic anomalies at bay.

Play Marta's Moon Adventure!
So this was actually a few months ago (sorry!), but I wanted to play it before I made a post, so I would know what I was talking about: my Commander Keen fan character from Return to the Shadowlands has been made central to a Commander Keen mod by VikingBoyBilly (https://www.deviantart.com/vikingboybilly). I didn't even know there were people modding Commander Keen, but theres actually enough people doing it that some communities hold contests: http://www.paramultart.comyr.com/kimprov1.html
Marta's Moon Adventure is beautifully realized, tough as nails, and remarkably dead-on as to my perception of the character. Be warned, the first level of this mod is as difficult as some of t
What have y'all been working on?
Hey folks, due to some really crazy life circumstances I haven't been checking my message center or my devwatch for the last few months. (Mostly it's because the forums are a huge, tempting timesink for me and I can't afford to follow every stupid thread I comment on.) I don't know if I'll ever get through all the stuff you productive people have been posting, so show me what you've all been working on, yeah?
Sorry for my extended absence!
Cartoon over-analysis: Jigglypuff/Clefairy
Hey look I'm reading way too far into stuff again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_WykWuodvc&feature=related
I always appreciated how the Clefairy-is-from-the-moon myth was validated in the cartoon. Not only is Clefairy from the moon, it's a highly advanced alien race with space travel and military pecking order.
Jigglypuff is inexplicably similar to Clefairy in terms of stats, movepool (they even share signature moves like sing and metronome) and evolutionary methods (moon stone.) Even after evolution, they share nearly the same size and shape.
So, theory: Jigglypuff is the result of an earlier Clefairy migration from the moon to Earth w
Miss Frizzle is a Time Lord
I'm not sure if I ever posted about this before, but an invitation to the Carmen Sandiego/Waldo shipping fan club reminded me: I'm pretty sure Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus is a Time Lord. (Actually, a Time Lady. But now you know what I am talking about.)
She has a thorough comprehension of science and history. She speaks in a long winded, whimsical manner and her style of dress is eccentric. Taking up a job as a teacher on Earth--as The Doctor has done at least twice--suggests a fascination with the human culture of curiosity, exploration, and resilience, as does her catch phrase "Take chances; make mistakes; get messy!"
