I know, about time, right?

Go visit my sketchbook: [link] I'll probably be updating there more often than here. (And really--I'd better.) Go there. Offer me critique. Please. Even if it's just a little thing, I will learn from it. Also, it will bump my sketchbook thread to the top of the forum.

Also, I'm still selling commissions and buttons. See my last two journals:

Hope you are all well this holidaytime~

Selling buttons and prints!

Alright folks, I am selling buttons! Also prints.

I don't normally do this because the shipping is too much a bother (I usually just sell these at Anime Vegas) but I've got a lot of leftover inventory, and I need the money now, not next september. So! Here's some photos, and the list:

PRINTS $5

All of these are on a glossy 11x17 stock, but some have been cropped down to appropriate dimensions just so there's not a silly white space at the bottom of the page. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

- Swingline (11x17)
- Birdo Shoop Da Whoop (11x17)
- Vocaloid Let It Be (11x11 - I only have one of these!)
- Pokemon Art Nouveau Misty (about 8.5x17)
- Pokemon Zigzagal (about 11x14)

POSTCARDS $1 (Preview: [link])

These are printed on a glossy card stock which is really nice.

- Maya Fey (4"x4")
- Kagamine Rin (4"x5")
- Swingline (4"x6")
- Swingline Drip Design (4"x6.5"
- Birdo Shoop Da Whoop (4"x5")

Some of these are in extremely limited supply--the FMA Flamel Staff, for instance, I'm not making anymore. I've only got a couple, which somehow survived from AV07. The big Ema Skye buttons are limited on account of I'm very nearly out of big button blanks and I won't be ordering more til next fall.

I've also got a ton of chrome buttons with designs drawn on in paint marker, mostly Naruto village symbols. See a photo here: [link] . If you really want one of these let me know, otherwise I will be throwing them in free with every order.

CUSTOM BUTTONS

I don't even do this at AV anymore, but if you want something specific on a button I'll do it for you. Existing art (even yours!): $4. New art: Talk to me about a commission. :)

PAYMENT
Paypal: bagshotrow@gmail.com

I've got no idea what it costs to ship an 11x17" print without folding it, but I'm guessing around $3, so there will be a $3 shipping charge on all orders. (If you're just buying a postcard, don't worry about it. I'll send it as a letter.)

I'm only doing this once until I can figure out how to get a super fancy online store set up (and that's a long way off) and this will really help me get my post-grad life in order, so help me out! I'll remember you forever. I'm also selling special commissions (see last journal!)

Graduation time! $5 SAI commissions open

Thu Nov 26, 2009, 2:16 AM

So, this fall has been pretty expensive for me.

Besides graduating three weeks from now (which means paying off all sorts of little exit fees, I'm sure,) I also got a 180 dollar traffic ticket (which ended up costing me 320--Ticketbusters sucks) I've just become aware of some medical bills from last year which weren't covered by insurance, and I haven't yet been placed in any job which is worthy even of my shoddy Bachelor of Arts degree. So, according to my calculations, coming out of UNLV, I have approximately:

0 Job(s)
0 Money

To top that off, today I got a twenty dollar parking ticket from the university because my meter ran out. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time, since twenty bucks wouldnt have bought me an apartment or a car insurance payment anyway... but in retrospect, I'd feel a lot better if I could have that twenty bucks back.

:star: SO, how about some commissions? :star:

These ones are gonna be SAI sketches. $5. I can't guarantee anything about them, really--except that they'll be done by Christmas, which, if you've commissioned my slow ass before, you know is some kind of holiday miracle.

You give me $5. I give you a picture of something you like. Your favorite character. Your own character. Your BFF's character. Your grandma's dog. I'll be using it as painting practice in SAI, so I'll most likely spend around half an hour on each one. Maybe I'll really like it and spend even longer? :iconitisamystery:

Example: [link] Something like this? Very possible.

Might be a headshot, might be a figure study. Might be fairly refined, but won't necessarily be "finished". That's why they're sketches. They WILL be in some kind of color, though, which is way cooler than getting some lame pencil scratching.

So, paypal: bagshotrow@gmail.com

If you don't have paypal and want a commission so bad you're ready to stuff some cash in an envelope--god bless you, I'll take it.

Don't let me down, DA! ILU

[edit] Oh yeah! I've got some leftover prints and buttons from Anime Vegas I'd be willing to mail out to interested parties. I'll post more details in another journal, but I'm pretty sure I've got these four: [link] [link] [link] [link] printed on nice glossy 11x17 paper. New buttons, too--Phoenix Wright, Edgeworth, The Blue Badger, TF2 class icons, L4D pills, stuff like that. Lemme know if you're interested!

Time is bullshit

Sat Nov 14, 2009, 12:03 AM

After thinking about it for about five minutes I've arrived at the conclusion that time is a load of horse pucky

I am refering to time zones, mostly. We act like the time of day is a very concrete thing: "On June 11th, 1994, at 11:23 pm..." but it's not. It's not even a measurement of where the sun is in the sky; it's a measurement of where the sun LOOKS like it is according to the person who's telling the time.

So my question is: Since the system is completely relative anyway, why don't we all use one time zone? This way, it'll be 2 PM in London at the same time it's 2 PM in New York--and "2 PM" will actually mean something. It will refer to the rotational angle of the earth. When the sun's directly over Greenwich, England, it'll be Noon. When the sun's over Nevada, it'll be 8 PM.

Now this probably seems like bullshit to you; it's completely unnatural, you think, for China to have to deal with the sun directly overhead and call it "midnight". But consider the southern hemisphere. Their seasons are reversed, right? "December" in Australia is one of the hotter months of the year! Does that mean they get to call it "July" just because of their relative weather conditions? No! They call it december and they celebrate Christmas and the poor mall santas don't even put on Hawaiian shirts, they wear their red jackets and talk about the north pole while theyre in goddamn Australia roasting their butts off

So why don't they go ahead and switch their time of day around, too? (Sydney is pretty much opposite Greenwich, England on the globe, so it really would be a complete reversal. Which, when you get right down to it, is actually how you would want it.)
