Return to the Shadowlands p1_2

About this 24 hour comic: The comic you are reading was drawn during 24 hour comic day in 2006. While I did not complete it within that time, and while the submitted work you see above has been touched up and formatted since then (a process which takes far longer than I anticipated) I believe that it fits the spirit of 24 hour comic day in that I really did intend do do 24 pages of this thing when I set out, and most of the touchup-work is for the sake of presentation only.

After page 17 or so, however, I will run out of pages, and at that point I will start drawing new pages at a similar production level as the old ones--while this is not necessarily in the spirit of 24 hour comic day, I do wish for you to be able to read this story in its entirety as I had planned it out. In the end, those 24 hours were about me--seeing how much I could accomplish in a day. I believe I was successful and I grew immensely as a cartoonist (the evolution you can see simply looking between page 1 and page 8 is evidence enough of that.) Satisfied with that, the rest of the time spent on this comic will be about you--giving you, hopefully, a fun story to read.



With that said, this is a story about early PC platform hero Commander Keen, and the events that transpire when an annoying neighbor moves in next door and challenges his intellect. I am still learning cartooning, and I am still trying to decide on a page format (this one is mostly based of =poinko's tutorial) so there's some idiosyncrasies, but enjoy.
